GOOD NEWS FOR THE SPOUSES OF THE EXSM RE-EMPLOYED IN SBI
FAMILY PENSION TO SPOUSES OF EX-SERVICEMEN EMPLOYEES
OF STATE BANK OF INDIA IN ADDITION TO FAMILY PENSION FROM
GOVERNMENT
State Bank’s e-Circular
P&HRD Sl.No.1206/2012 13 dated 4th March 2013 conveying its
instructions to the Branches of the Bank on granting family pension under SBI
Pension Scheme in addition to the family pension from the
Government.
The eligible spouses are
requested to apply for the sanction of family pension through their pension
paying home Branches with the necessary documents.

“THE SBI
EMPLOYEES’ PENSION FUND RULES PAYMENT OF FAMILY PENSION TO THE FAMILY PENSIONERS
OF THE DECEASED EX-SERVICEMEN EMPLOYEE PENSIONERS.
Please refer our Circular No.CDO/PM/16/CIR/68
dated the 17th November, 1999 in terms of which it was advised that
the family pensioners of the deceased ex-servicemen employees/pensioners of the
Bank, who are eligible for drawing family pension from the Bank as well as from
the Government are required to submit their option for drawing family pension
either from the Government or from the Bank.
In cases the ex-servicemen family pensioners desire to draw family
pension from the Government and wish to forgo family penskion from the Bank in
favour of Military family pension, necessary noting is to be made. Accordingly, option is called for from the
family pensioners to draw family pension either from our Bank or from Military
establishment as eligibility for family pension is from one source
only.
2. In this connection, the Government of
India, Ministry of Defence vide their letter No.01/(05)/2010-D(Pen/Policy) dated
17.01.2013 have circulated revised instructions vide which families of Armed
Forces Pensioners who get re-employment in Central Civil departments or State
Govt./PSUs/ Autonomous bodies/Local Funds of Central/State Governments after
getting retired/discharged from military service and were in receipt of military
pension till death would be entitled to draw two family pensions i.e. the Family
Pension from Military side in addition to the Family Pension, if any, authorized
by the re-employer for re-employmed civil service subject to fulfillment of
other prescribed conditions as hitherto fore.
The revised provisions will be effective from 24th September,
2012 or thereafter. Further, the benefit
of these provisions shall also be allowed in past cases however the financial
benefit shall be granted from 24th September, 2012 only.
3. Pursuant to the above modification of
instructions by the Government of India, it has been decided to withdraw the
existing provision of calling for the option for drawing family pension either
from the Government or from the Bank.
Accordingly, family pension will be paid to the deceased ex-servicemen
employees/ pensioners of the Bank who are also drawing family pension from the
Government. The revised instructions
will be effective from 24th September, 2012 or thereafter. Further, the benefit of these provisions
shall also be allowed in past cases, however the financial benefit shall be
granted from 24th September, 2012 only.

Committee to Look Into pay and Pension Grievance Of Retired Military Personnel

A Committee was constituted by the Government in July, 2012 under the Chairmanship of the Cabinet Secretary and consisting of Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Defence Secretary, Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Secretary, Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare and Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training for looking into the pay and pension related issues of relevance to Defence Services Personnel and Ex- Servicemen.
Although there was no military representative on the Committee, consultations were held with all the Service Chiefs by the Committee before finalizing the recommendations.
Four recommendations were made by the Committee on revision of pension/family pension of Armed Forces personnel. They are- One Rank One Pension - Bridging the gap in pensions, Enhancement of family pensions, Dual family pension and pension to physically/mentally challenged son/daughter of armed forces personnel on marriage. All the recommendations of the Committee, 2012 have been implemented by issue of eight Government letters on 17.1.2013. These are available on the websites www.desw.gov.in and www.cgda.nic.in.
This information was given by Minister of State for Defence Shri Jitendra Singh in a written reply to Dr. Chandan Mitra in Rajya Sabha today.

Do you want to know how many LPG cylinders you have consumed till date in FY 2012-13 ?
a) Visit petroleum Ministry’s web site http://petroleum.nic.in/
b) You can see a small hotlink on its right side top panel, where the words “LPG Portal” keeps blinking.
c) Click on “LPG Portal” and it will open to a page that gives interactive cloud-blurbs like “Rate a Distributor”, “find multiple connections in the same name” etc., etc.,
d) In this screen, on the right side bottom portion, you can see logos that are linked to your own LPG supplier – Indane, Bharatgas and HP Gas.
e) This will lead you to “Transparency Portal” where you are required to give inputs like State, City and Distributor name details.
f) After clicking “Proceed” button, you can see next screen where you have to give your consumer number / your name for search.
g) Here, you can find out the No. of LPG cylinders issued under your consumer number in Financial Year 2012-2013.
As you are aware, you are
eligible for 6 cylinders (now 9 cylinders) at concessional rate and any
additional cylinder will be very costly.
Plan your consumption to save a few hundred rupees.
Please send to as many people as you can.
It will be helpful for them to claim their subsidised cylinders.

APPLICATION TO GET THE 2nd FAMILY PENSION ?
Following the issue of government order by the Department of Pension and pensioners’ welfare on 16.01.2013 and by CDA (P) on 17.01.2013 (Circular No.504) for two family pensions, a large number of widows are running here and there desperately without knowing what to do, whom to apply and how to apply ?
This is for the benefit of those widows who are running for help in the matter, we give
below the following guidelines for getting the 2nd family pension at
an early date.
To start with, they may do the following:-
1. Draft an application in the following format.
2. Enclose a copy of the death certificate of their husband in English.
3. Enclose aXerox copy of PPO (Both for civil and defence pension).
4. If you have already applied for family pension earlier for defence family pension, and it was refused by the record office, please mention the reason and attach a xerox copy of the correspondence.
5. Please inform to the record office, if the endorsement of family pensionis pending with them due to previous government orders.
6. Enclose a copy of the govt. order to grant 2nd family pension.
Wait for the reply from the respective offices for further action.
