PHASED REPLACEMENT OF OLD CANTEEN SMART CARDS

Canteen Smart Cards and Canteen inventory Management System were introduced in URCs in 2004. The Smart Cards were revised with additional security features in October 2010, such as storage of photo in chip and increased chip memory from 16 kb and recently to 64 kb. The Requirement was felt to renew these cards in phases for operational efficiency. The SOP in accordance with DDGCS letter No 96301/Q/DDGCS/Policy dated 15 May 2013, elaborates the procedures for implementing phased replacement of Old Canteen Smart Cards

The Phased replacement of all Smart Cards issued prior to Oct 2010 shall be done as per time frame as under:-

Date Event/Action

01 Aug 13 to 31 Jul 14 Replace of all Smart Cards issued in 2003-2004

Applying/Reapplying.

The Applicant must tick the correct box-Re-Applying in all case of re-applying, be it is part of phased change of old Smart Cards or due to other requirement (Such as Cards damaged, lost, category change) Applicant must tick in “ Fresh” box only when applying for Smart Cards for the first time.

In case of Re-applying, enter Old Liquor/Grocery Cards ID. This is a mandatory field for all cases of Re-applying. The Printed number on the Old Liquor/Grocery Card must be correctly entered here.

Applicant's Mobile No must be entered by the applicant.

It is preferable and operationally efficient to apply for all required Smart Cards in one single application. Incase dependent Smart Cards are applied separately at a late stage, the old dependent Smart Cards will be temporarily blocked on activation of new parent grocery Smart Card. On being inserted for billing, old dependent Smart Cards not linked to newly activated parent grocery Smart Cards, CIMS will flash message – 'Your old primary grocery card is not listed'.

Please get your dependent cards reactivated with the newly personalized grocery card for distribution of entitlement.

Veteran applicants have the option of applying for Combined Grocery and Liquor Smart Cards, but this smart cards has some major disadvantages, vis-à-vis Separate Grocery namely -Additional amount of Rs 1500/- available in Liquor Smart Cards is not available in combined Grocery & Liquor Smart Cards. -There is no provision for issuing Dependent Smart Cards based on this Smart Card. Applicants have to apply afresh to a separate grocery and dependent Smart Cards if needed.

  1. Dear All

Why these Bastard Politicians are promising the word of One Rank One Pension. Now I am not expecting anything from the Government of India either now or in future. During Election time these bastards are thinking about One Rank One Pension but after Election all promises are in dust bin. The most useless for Indian Armed Forces is Bureaucrat/IDAS/IAS Bastards as they are the main enemy for Indian Armed Forces and Nation.

  2. Sir (Kind Attn to Defence Minister), It have been & it is dreamt by 98% of Forces, whether Serving or Ex that they would have the generosity and strong desire not have to simply roar and only the role of saving our Man, Materials and Territory. The unique combination of India is the "Brave Indian Armed Forces on the field, sky and water under the generous Guidance and Orders of the Central Govt of BJP. The secret of power of India has been defined by The Swamiji and the patriotism, dedication and vigour, and the God-fearing belief (inherited) by an Indian Soldier has, is by virtue of the essence of what Swamiji revealed, and it is the rare of the rarest virtue of any counterpart of any nation, in true sense. Because, the power of virtuousness, sacredness, love for the nation, desire and salvation are the wealth, real power and worth of us, the INDIAN SOLDIERS. Although, I was fortunate to get augmented during the Kargil War, but safely came back home, loosing numerous friends, and still having a grief for not getting chance to lay down the life on the feet of My Mother India. My pray to the God, if I would come back again i this earth, must become the fortunate one to be an Indian Soldier and get the opportunity to do, what have not been done for the Nation. The doctrine(Self) of 'Indian Soldiers' includes the religiousness, belief and especially the sense of 'Service before Self' and patriotism of Indian Soldier is only a subject of imagination for those who (Politicians, even not having the pride or glory of becoming an Indian) considered our soldiers, as merely servicemen and ex-servicemen (a kind of paid service only). Only some of the States of my India, have the endeavour and pay a bit of regards and respect, as Punjab, Haryana etc. As a perfect example, the Govt of WB, and the people do not have any regard, honour. They are in habit of termed as "Damad of Central". While joining the Force, after Matriculation, they do undergo the rigorous physical, mental, discipline training as well as undertake the studies concerned to their respective Trade-studies, the Armed Forces Acts, Regulations and Orders. For further promotion to the next higher ranks, they are examined and tested various subjects, educational syllabus of General English, Intelligence tests and general mathematics also, apart from their studies of various Military tactical tests. They gather the knowledge of different culture, different geographical condition, different all round experience of different parts of India, that is actual education, which cannot be gathered in a syllabus-based knowledge in different subjects, which is taught in conventional educational system. Taken into consideration, on completion of 15 yrs/20 yrs of Service (in group ‘C’), they are granted equivalent to H.S.Certificates and “Graduation” Certificates. But, still only Govt of WB do not consider them to be a Teacher in Primary School ! (The issue is pending under consideration at NCTE, Min of HRD,GOI). Having been considered fit to acquire the Civil equal status of Office Supdt, UDC, Supervisor, Instructor, Sub Inspector after leaving the Service, which is recommended by the Central Govt, by giving Certificates and endorsement in their ‘Discharge Book’. We are offered by the state Police to serve in the Rank of Constable. There is an essential need to utilise those Ex-Servicemen in various field of befitting Service, in which the Ex-Servicemen deemed to be fittest, in comparison to any other ‘Man Power’. Especially, in the Society, of all over states of India, initiation of getting their due respect and regard must be ensured. In the field of vigilance, promoting Discipline, implementation of Govt Order, in deed, Giving importance to NCC, they can be proved inevitable, as per conscious, education, loyalty, the lion share of Ex-Servicemen have conceived by virtue of the education, honesty and loyalty they have been moderated into their blood made available by the Service of Defence.

  5. I lost my Grocery CSD card. When I approached the nearest CSD Canteen (HQ MAO Mumbai) I was asked to go to the very CSD canteen where the card was initially made. I think as a centralized services this can be done from any canteen. Also I have seen that Liquor quota is not allowed at many canteens on the pretext that your base canteen is some where else. At least the seniors / Ex service men should be allowed for these facility as either the base / parent canteen may be too far or items are not available, etc etc. It is high time you should support and respect your seniors or else the ball will surely come back to you from the wrong side as your juniors will learn from you to how to behave with seniors. Please some one with authentic information with authority letter may reply at the earliest about the information regarding CSD canteen where lost card can be re made and liquor quota availability from non parent canteens. Thank you, Regards mohan (mohankongorpilly@gmail.com)
