On Independence today I am doing to do what I would like every one of my friends on Facebook (Those who are Indian) do. Be Indian for the next one year. Don't be a Muslim, nor a HIndu, neither a sikh or even a christian - just be Indian.
Before I shift into Independence mode in order to help my brethren I would like them to contemplate on what Ambedkar said off the Muslims. The man said it over seventy years ago. I leave it to you to decide whether he was right or not:
".. Hinduism is said to divide people and in contrast Islam is said to bind people together. This is only a half-truth. For Islam divides as inexorably as it binds. Islam is a close corporation and the distinction that it makes between Muslims and non-Muslims is a very real, very positive and very alienating distinction. The brotherhood of Islam is not the universal brotherhood of man. It is brotherhood of Muslims for Muslims only. There is a fraternity, but its benefit is confined to those within that corporation. For those who are outside the corporation, there is nothing but contempt and enmity. ... "
This was no scathing indictment by Ambedkar on Islam just a reminder that its time that every Muslim start to become an Indian first and then follow his religion.
May India conquer all black forces and become truly magnificent.
