The fourth and final instalment of One Rank One Pension (OROP) is due for payment from August, union defence minister Arun Jaitley said.
The Govt had issued orders for implementation of One Rank One Pension on November 7, 2015. As on April 30, 2017, a sum of Rs 8,792.01 crore has been released to 21,08,398 defence forces pensioners/family pensioners in three instalments. Fourth and “final instalment is due for payment from August, 2017”, the Lok Sabha was informed.
Some ex-servicemen associations have been demanding changes in methodology for fixation of pension, periodicity of its revision, coverage of future Pre-mature retirees (PMR) cases etc. The government appointed One Member Judicial Committee (OMJC) on OROP to look into anomalies, if any arising out of implementation of OROP on December 14, 2015. The committee submitted its report on October 26, 2016.
An internal committee has been constituted by the government on July 19, 2017 to examine the recommendations of OMJC with respect to feasibility and financial aspects.
Pension Grievances Cell in the department have been receiving some grievances of the pensioners/family pensioners regarding non-payment of OROP benefits and taking up the matter with the concerned offices e.g. Controller General of defence Accounts (CGDA), Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension) and Pension Disbursing Agencies (Banks) for redressal of their grievances in a time-bound manner.

Mr jaitley was defeated by an ex serviceman in the parliament election and now he has entered into the ministry through back door, election commission should formulate a stringent rule when any one is defeated by the people in the lok sabha election, he should be debarred from contesting any election for the period of ten years to seek mandatory of the people
ReplyDeleteevery where welfare of services come jaitely makes it more complicated and knotty , once OMJC ordered and report submitted what is need for referring to a committee, practice of red tapism and procrastination

ReplyDeleteThree cheers to Jaitley Ji and his thinking process. An otherwise brilliant lawyer is using his wisdom in a negative way and thereby causing extensive damage to the morale of defense services. As Defence Minister instead of leading the Soldiers by example, he has become a victim of his personal vendetta and is playing into the hands of MOD Bureaucracy, who have for decades functioned against the interest of services.
ReplyDeleteHistory will not forget him for this lapse.
Jetley is "Not a Peoples Representative" then "How is he making Rules". It's ILLLEGAL. He is responsible for "5 year review of pension rule", Which should be struck down by Supreme Court during on going OROP Hearing. Mr Ram jetmalani Kindly nail Jetley to wall in Supreme Court.
