Dear all,
Now that Cir 565 is out, in r/o Casualty Pension Awards/WIE etc. without pro-rata reduction (DL-33), what is in store for pre-2006 PBOR Pensioners?
After MOD's 11.11.2008 orders, 397 circular was issued. Then Circular 430. Much of us are unaware of Cir 471. Then Modified parity Cir 501 and then the 547 circular changing from minimum pay in the pay band to Min of fitment tables (corresp to pre-2006 scales):
The Minimum of fitment tables as per above Cir - Annx B (for Air Force Pers) is as given below :
X Gp - AC - 12450 Y Gp - AC - 10250 Z gp- AC - 9880
LAC - 12890 LAC -11050 LAC - 10060
CPL - 13520 CPL - 11890 CPL - 10650
SGT - 14890 SGT- 12840 SGT - 12070
SGT(Dip)-15500 JWO-15880 JWO - 15880
JWO - 18340 WO- 18080 WO - 18080
WO - 20560 MWO - 19080 MWO -19080
MWO - 21970
HONY F/O - 30930 HONY FLT LT - 32290
Based on the above, my guess on Gp Y Sgt (Air force) Basic pension wef 1.1.2006 is as given below:(SIMILAR CALCULATION BE DONE FOR OTHER RANKS/GPS)
Length of Service (50%of Min of fitment/15 yrs multiplied by actual QS)

(THIS IS PURE SPECULATION/GUESS WORK ONLY AND NOT OFFICIAL FIGURES.
WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE PCDA CIRCULAR, TO KNOW ACTUAL OFFICIAL FIGURES).
SGT GV NARAYANA,AIR VET. BLOGGER.
Very good work done ! Any further order on the subject will surely have calculations like as you have done . Awaiting for actual order !
ReplyDeleteby the formula you have demolished the very fundamentals of DL 33. The calculation of pension on the basis of no of years becomes irrelevant when DL33 is implemented. A person whether served 15 year or 33 years will get same pension that is what de linking qualifying service for full pension means.

If I am assured the pension for 33 years' service on completion of 15 year service ,then am I a fool to slog there in defence. There should be some compensation for the extra length of service puts in by some body. One should be rational in judging the dues as per their length of service.
DeleteWhen one served 33 yrs would get 18 addl increments. As per 50% lpd, he would get more than mgp. Jwo to mindset
ReplyDeleteI feel I am out of date, if not senile (I am 74).I was told I would get more Pension because of OROP. It did not enthuse me as I am not in a position to use more money with lot of restrictions on my diet & movement. But I was told that it also reinstates my STATUS (IZZAT). That straightened me up, as I had always felt that I was not what I should have been, compared to my counterparts elsewhere so far as it related to length of service, qualification,(dis)comforts of life, competence and many other things. But, being in Service Uniform was a very special thing for me and that really kept me going, though it did not mean the same thing to my counterparts elsewhere, as they(much junior to me) were happily ruling over me. With this background, when I heard of OROP I was quite thrilled. Yes, I will get the same Pension for the same rank & same service. Then I was told that at my service, the present man would have gone up in Rank much above my Rank in which I retired. Then it struck me that I was just being compensated for all that has happened, with some monetary benefits, which (Money)[not Status / Izzat] I have told you is not of much meaning to me now. Then came Anomalies in implementing OROP. Govt was
ReplyDeletequick(!!)enough to appoint a ONE MAN JUDICIAL COMMITTEE to sort out these Anomalies. I did not bother about it much till some AAM AADMI asked me "How can there be a ONE MAN COMMITTEE, Judicial or otherwise, when the Dictionary meaning says COMMITTEE is 'Body of Persons' appointed for Special Functions?". I was not able to answer straigtaway. Yes, OROP Anomalies is a Special Function. But how one person can make a Committee? I am surprised how this basic question has escaped the attention of the OMJC.Is the Govt (Babus) playing a trick here? Being novice in legal / Govt matters, I leave it to the Knowldgeable people to
debate on this .
Between 15 and 33years and beyond one may get 2 or 3 promotions and the pensionincreases according to rank whereas person of 15 years get pension of lower rank only. Same pension for 15 -33 y subject to same rank. In my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI feel this is correct. The SC judgement says that the pension shall not be lower than 50% of the minimum of the scale. Good work don mr.GVN
ReplyDeleteDear sirs it is not as said by Sgt GV Narayana The min service and family pension shall be not less than 50 and 30 percentage of the Minimum of pay in the pay band plus Grade pay plus MSP plus X pay if applicable For Sgt Y group the min pension shall be 6420 if he is getting less than this those getting more than 6420 are not applicable You can refer PCDA circular No 502 dated 17 Jan 2013 which was issued for Enhanced and ordinary rate of family pension. From Sub Maj Prakash Pattar Veteran
ReplyDeleteYes' As Figure are Correct as per calculation by Blogger' However' In my view Figure has declined PCDA(P) Instead above cited Calculated Figure Due to controlling of Fund/Budget Just like OROP Matrix. ReplyDeleteDear veterans, please refer PCDA circular No 502 dated 17 Jan 2013.
ReplyDeleteDear Sirs. The calculation of min pension shown for Sgt Y Gp by Sgt GV Narayana is wrong. Retired Sgt Y Gp those getting lesser than 6420 will be get 6420. Please refer table 5 of PCDA circular No 502 dated 17th January 2013 which has been issued for Enhanced ordinary rate of family pension.
ReplyDeleteDear Prakash Pattar and V Luthra and JWO (Retd) Sukumaran RV Sirs,
ReplyDeleteWhy dont you refer to Circular 501 of 17.1.2013? Is the pension same in the rank for 15 to 30 years?
Sgt GV Narayana
