Pakistan Railway Unique style of Changing engine Never Seen Before
this type of system of changing engine direction is available at KHANDAWA (m.p)rly.station and I have seen doing so..from veteran Sgt.amardas udasi 9827761611
This is an ancient practice, we had in most of our junctions when we were using steam Engines.As I was staying near the station in Calicut, have seen this operation from 1950. Present modern Diesel or Electrical Engines do not need to change heads as the have controls on both side.
There is nothing unique about this method. Simple way to change direction. I think this practice has been in existence in Railways from before partition. I have seen this at Tambaram Rly Station way back in the 70s.
Similar facility exhist in India also to change the direction of the engine on same rail line.
ReplyDeleteThis is nothing unique, world over this is practiced including India where the engine operates unidirectional. This is called engine turn table.
