Panaji: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today said that ‘one-rank one-pension’ policy would be implemented in the defence forces before the next budget. “One-man one-pension policy will be implemented. We are right now working on its detailing,” Parrikar said. The implementation has lot of financial implications which are being worked out, he said.
“It has lot of financial implications. Details would be available only once we work it out,” Parrikar said. ‘One-rank, one-pension’ policy means soldiers of the same rank and same length of service get the same pension irrespective of their retirement date. Parrikar said the announcement to implement the policy was made in the last budget.
“Now we will have to implement it. I have kept a target that it will be implemented before the next budget. My effort is to ensure that it should be implemented as soon as possible. My target is that it should not wait for the next budget,” he said.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the commitment sir.
ReplyDeleteThe trust deficit between the MOD and the Defence Fraternity is so heavy that such repeated statements periodically creates more trust deficit than otherwise. The anti govt sentiments amongst the veterans in the recent elections in J &K, Maharashtra ,UP should have called for expediting the implementation of manifesto but lethargy remains the strong point of the bureaucracy. Now that Delhi elections are likely to be in end Feb There would be sudden flurry of deceptive statements to appease the gullible targets. Even statements made in Parliament do not have any sanctity Remember those scores of statements on OROP in the Parliament even by Presidents and others!
ReplyDeleteAll the ex servicemen and their families will be thankful to Modiji and manohar parrikar sir.JAI HIND
ReplyDeleteFor many years, this nation has not seen much development barring a few states like gujrat. Incidentally, the present prime minister was in the helm of affairs of gujrat and he kept his commitment in development of that state. Likewise, time will come when we will find the glory of indian army and it's veterans is recoveref under his leadership. We are sure that he has already instructed defence minister to do the needful wrt orop implementation and other welfare measures in respect of exservicemen.
