BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on
Monday said he had met Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar who assured him that
the government would introduce the one rank, one pension scheme for all
military personnel in the current session of Parliament.
The scheme was
one of the BJP’s major poll promises for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Dr. Swamy said they also
discussed various strategic perspectives and the necessary weapons acquisition
required to meet the national security threats.
He said Mr. Parrikar
had told him that the Henderson-Brookes Report on the 1962 China conflict will,
with a little editing, be declassified soon.
The
Henderson-Brooks report blames the Nehru government’s ill-conceived and
ill-timed “Forward Policy,” without proper intelligence or adequate military
preparation, for India’s defeat in 1962.

Under whose authority and on what basis is Dr. Swamy saying this. ?? Does he know more than DM Mr. Parikar and why can't DM take the credit for this news ??? DM has spoken on OROP without any definite date yesterdsy at Mumbai and today at Delhi. Dr Swamy should keep quiet instead of adding insult to injury and only the DM should come clean, if he wants to. The meeting called tomorrow is to give another lame excuse for further delay else he could have given a definite statement. Dear ESM, take it easy with a couple of pegs of rum .
ReplyDeleteNo definite date is likely to be announced. stretch of time weeks or months before completion of one year in office current parliament session how lethargic they are. they do not understand the anxiety of the ex defense personnel very pathetic and sad
ReplyDeleteIt was already announced in Budget session twice. Now why again in Parliament session? Only implementation circular is to be published by PCDA. .
ReplyDeleteGod needs to define now 'top priority' since last one year we are listening such words every often.
ReplyDeleteHow much and many time will take for implementation of orop. Salary of MP/MLA and other chamchas takes only once for claping the table
