By S.K.Vyas
JALANDHAR: We have decided to launch a new political party soon and it would be ' Fauji Janata Party' in order to contest forthcoming Punjab Assembly elections 2017.
This was disclosed by Major General Satbir Singh (rtd) at a meeting organised by the United Front here on Sunday.Confidently he said about the possibility of being whining about 60 seats in various Assembly segments.
Singh said,"In the beginning,we will have to face hardships owing to paucity of funds  and may not be able to contest independently for that we have an option open for other political parties for an alliance. “We have constituted  an eleven member core group to assess winning possibilities  of other political parties  and to have a dialogue about alliance with them for contesting election."
He (Gen Satbir Singh) said, "First preference is likely to be given to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at the same time AAP should not object in case of alliance if need be with the Indian National Congress party (INC) or Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) subject to the condition either of the party fulfil their condition in implementing our demand of One Rank One Pension (OROP) will be the first and foremost condition from our side he concluded."

  3. The call for orop may be same as its expanded form ie no X Y group system among JCO/OR. When all other groups upto F have since been merged with group Y what is the problem making it a uniform scale? When other groups had been clubbed with Y, had there been any increase for the Y group personnel? So the time is now over to scrap this type of disparity of ancient formula.

Will this serve the purpose for the long run???

Ofcourse somebody's ambition of power game might be fulfilled but it may be at the cost of public sympathy.

The OROP is already in the Supreme court. Let us first wait the verdict from there.

    1. Political will or constitutional power is the quick way to do welfare of the people above the court verdict I think so. Look at the fate of DL 33 yrs, may be so many cases likewise. So it is not bad to apprise the visions of the personnel to such newly creating platform.

Sir totally agree with MR V K DAS.GEN SATBIR SAHIB 's political ambition, will not spoil, hat he earned at J M,but will also defame the OLIVE.FAUJI's are adored during national crises.after retirement this is a junk food .general perceptions for a FAUJI,is either brainless or with no brain or brainwashed, thus sustainability's in civil society is diplorable and regardless.
The adviser to GEN SATBIR SAHIB, rsiding in defence colonies may not be well-wisher,but only pretending to be his trustee.GEN SAHIB needs to be cautious from such elements as these are totally boycott at their roots in villages, and can't ask their kith and kin to vote for FAUJI JANTA PARTY being socially condemned due to prolonged isolation and enmity.time will tell the fate of FAUJI JANTA PARTY.

    1. Yes I agree with Ragbir Singh. It does not matter we may get our dues or it may be delayed. But creation of a political for the same is equal to self destruction.
Once you start a political party we can not be proud of our past rendered service. We will also be treated like any other third class indian politician.Let our fajuis refrain from such extreme steps which will defame the long cherished PRIDE TO BE FAUJI

However' i had visit in technical section with our friend for latest information regarding Matrix-table/ arrears WEF 01-01-2006 to 30-06-2014 before day implementation of OROP. 10. Sir as an fouji we earn some respect and honour from civilians. There is no harm in forming a political party and this is our fundamental rigt given by our constitution. If you can uphold the values, principles, discipline, moral and dignity of our kind then you are most welcome. But my gut feeling is that when we enter into politics, sustaining those values are very difficult and we may tarnish our image. Facing a bullet in the war is more easier than facing a ballot with keeping all our principles intact.

  11. In democratic country you can do any job within law frame work. You form a political party and contest election . How you will win election on brother offrs 5% votes . Pbor 95% why vote to you or party . you spoil the dream of PBOR 's 75% OROP . what you think PBOR are fool and they will support you never .

  12. Respected MANOJ JEE,GEN SATBIR SINGH SAHIB is being misguided.he while a J M have already been condemned fo a wilful political ambition by many his colleagues.though now confirmed ,yet GEN SAHIB must give second thoughts before every values to be a FAUJI are preserved.

If forming a political party is going to benefit the Ex Servicemen; I am afraid; to quote the name; the ex servicemen those who have joined the political parties - The great General VK Singh (now State Minister in Forein Affairs); Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore; also a State Minister; Col Khoshiyari (to name a few) what have they done about their fellow men. Did they do anything - they are in the power.

Now Maj Gen (Retd) Satbir Singh wants to form a Fauji Party at the state level. Will he be able to do anything to the Govt.in centre.

It is our considered opinion that we should fight on the existing platform. Let us be a king maker

  14. Sir, the political ambition and creation a new party, will certainly defy GEN SATBIR SINGH SAHIB from SATYA WADISM.much more the fame and an honor, earned at J M shall be at stake.instead of ,his solidarity towards FAUJIS well being will be solicited.may be through LITIGATION.

  15. I do agree with the comments by Satwinder Singhji. It is for sure that once the party gets formed by the General, the status of the veterans will go down without any chance to regain. Hence it is better not to get transferred to civil society. However, willing veterans may join any political party and serve the nation in the 2nd inning of life. But never form any party which will ruin the image of all the veterans at the cost of few retired officers.

  17. Launching a political party or naming a political party is one's right, However naming it as"Fauji" a class known for sacrifice to the safety of nation, shall not be taged with politics where some party is known as, self(faimily) first & the nation never .Will be disliked by the majority,

  18. Gen Sat b honest to say ur contribution to pbors cause! PBORs hv contributed enough in fulfilling offrs concerns during JM showdown for orop. I think pbors r not going to swallow Gen Sat's lollypop for his power game in politics! How is he going to justify his total disregard of MSP to PBORs as contemptuous disparity to offrs n MNS? A diploma nurse is commissioned as offrs to pay offrs MSP? A JCO/OR is even less MILITARY than an MNS? AnMNS receives d first bullet of enemy in d Warfield? Whose game is this? Its been crystal clr that AFs offrs never were, are nd will b for pbors cause? D seed of divide nd rule sown by d bureaucrates in af commanders are now being allup against bureaucracy for the simple reason of pay disparity wd them! De want pbors number strength to win their cause? A civil dip holder with 20 yrs service retires in gp A. A Sgt with 20 yrs service retires in gr. III. What irony of mocking offrs?

  21. Share of ex-servicemen in politics is demand of the time as it is a well matured large group, but lack of National level leadership without self interest and co-participation ex-servicemen who are at present associated with political parties for a petty interest are lacuna which was supposed to be discussed by ex Gen before showing so hurry. His acceptance of seeking alliance with other party is a very narrow thought in its starting
