Army Chief urges ex-servicemen to call off OROP protests

TIMES NOW | 3rd June, 2015 at 6:00 PM
Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag today met ex-servicemen and urged them to end their agitation over the delay in implementation of 'One Rank, One Pension' scheme, but the former defence officers have refused to budge.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently assured the ex-servicemen on the roll-out of the OROP scheme in his monthly 'Mann Ki Baat' programme on radio, but the retired defence personnel have sought a firm timeline on scheme's implementation. Miffed over this issue, the ex-servicemen have planned a protest on June 14.

  3. The Army chief has no moral right to ask veterans to shun agitation because he is also party to BJP Govt to make a U turn from implimenting OROP. He appeared before the veteran crowds and assured them that OROP will be implimented by end of Apr 15. Then had he asked the DM and PM as to why he was made scapegoat in the case?. Can this chief has any decency to face the veteran cammunity and again become fool of himselo. Every body knows his chamchagiri among serving people that he collected 100 crores rupees and presented to PM by which he proofed that he can go to any extend to make his career at the cost of others. So beware of this gentleman chief.
