"The Chief of Army staff had told us to meet the Defence Minister before holding a meeting. We, the members of Indian Ex-servicemen movement (IESM), met the Defence Minister. He told us that the ministry is working on it (OROP). We will meet him again, once it is finalised and the date is given to us, we will inform the rest," he said. "If it does not happen, then we will begin an agitation from June 14, we will hold a rally at Jantar Mantar. We will begin a hunger strike from 15th onwards," he added.Meanwhile, the NDA Government at the Centre has drawn flak from various political parties, especially from the Congress, over its delay in implementing the OROP scheme.
Prime Minister Modi, while addressing the nation in his eighth edition of the 'Mann Ki Baat' programme, had assured ex-servicemen that his government would soon resolve the OROP issue.
The OROP scheme has been a long-standing demand of ex-servicemen's associations and relates to payment of uniform pension to defence forces personnel retiring in the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement.

New Delhi, June 6 (ANI): Defence expert Lieutenant General (retired) Raj Kadyan on Saturday said the one-rank, one-pension (OROP) scheme which has been long pending would be resolved soon. "The Prime Minister is committed, we have no doubt it will come. Now, it is stuck because somebody is trying to play around with the definition which we had worked out after careful thought. It was very simple, only two parameters were to be taken into account, rank and total service," Lieutenant General (retired) Kadyan said."If you inject anything else which will be neither fair nor will it be easy to implement. So, we are going to sit with the people who have worked it out. Let us see how it is resolved. I have great confidence that we will be able to resolve it," he added.
The Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement (IESM), a leading association of retired military personnel, has said that they would agitate and call for a hunger strike, if their demands for one-rank, one-pension are not met. Major General (retired) Satbir Singh, who is the vice-chairman of IESM, said that their meeting with the Defence Minister was inconclusive. He said they will hold a rally at the Jantar Mantar from June 14 and will begin the hunger strike from June 15.

Being a member of IESM it is my request to office bearers not to fall prey to any tactics of DM or PM.They will give another tareek.Let them issue a notification of implementation of OrOp by 10th of june.Enough time has been given in the past.Govt.'s intention is doubtful.Veteran brothers have got their seats reserved in trains to Delhi.Don't have soft corner for Trimurti.

ReplyDeleteWe welcome the decision of ISEM. It is coming in news that ITBP BSF CRPF(paramilitary) moral will be Down. I THINK PARA MILITARY IS ONLY ASSAM RIFLE. Organisation like ITBP BSF AND CRPF are the Police force.
ReplyDelete2.. They are govern with centrsl civil services rules.
3. Their tunure of service is 60 years.
4. Many fundamental rights of Army Personnel are abrogated.
5 If govt is so serious about OROP and fear of other organation to come up with same demand the govt can ask these organisation we can consider but ypu have to agree with following.
(A) Your rules will be amended and your rules with at par with rules will be same as Military personnel.
(b) Your service will be reduced to 32 years of age (rank based) if not promoted as applicable to military personnel.
(c) Will you give some of your services in siachen and like hard station.
(d) will you agree you can be called for duty 24 hours.
(f) Will you agree for same punishment like army personnel if fail to carry out your duties.
IF NOT WHY YOU ARE COMPARING YOUR SELD WITH ARMY PERSONNEL. NO ARMY PERSONNEL IS COMPARING WITH YOU. IF YOU REQUIRE LEAVE YOU JUST PROVIDE A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE AND GO ON LEAVE. YOU DONT GO FOR WAR. ARMY PERSONNEL USED FOR WAR. NAUTRAL CLAMITIES. ORDER ANY OTHER PLACES WHERE GOVT DESIRES
What the government does with or how it deals with other government security related organizations can not be linked to OROP for the jawans.
ReplyDeleteHe had finished his launch in Dhaka yestarday with 100 menus on table. Exservicemen who have given their youth for this country are forced to remain hungry alongwith their family members for years together and now planning for a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar for keeping their honour and also a philip in their pension package of merely 4/5 thousand rupees. Every one knows with hungry stomach no human being can undertake Yoga exercise for which the present Govt. is contemplating to act in Rajpath even. It is disgrace when someone takes credit of lamenting others for non-implementation of OROP. In fact, OROP is a simple term with simple calculation but will of these political force and for this, any simple thing can become critical. Even a dull-most of a school makes commitment to become the best in the class. Any one can make any commitment but commitment gains value when it is implemented. For Jawans and exservicemen, the delay tactics was not expected at least from this Govt. which was once earned complete support from exservicemen.
