Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister today supported the demand for 'One Rank, One Pension' by agitating ex-servicemen and said the central government should fulfil the "promise" made to the veterans.

"That (OROP) has been agreed on in Parliament when the other government was there. The should be given. That is the promise that the earlier government has made. I think this government should fulfil this promise made to them (ex-serviceman)," the National Conference patron told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

The ex-servicemen have been agitating for 77 days at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi demanding implementation of the scheme which envisages a uniform pension for the defence personnel who retire in the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement.
