IMPROVEMENT IN PENSIONTO BRIDGE THE GAP IN PENSION OF JCO,s & OR DISCHARGED PRE AND POST 01-01-2006 Sir, It is requested that NOTIONAL Pay of Sub Maj considered for calculating pension is less than Pay (20200/-)of a Hav in 6thPC In 5th PC pension was calculated by taking into account Pay at top end of the applicable scale of the rank and group then 50%, would be the pension for 33 years by giving 5 years of weightage. For example Sub Maj of Group X . his pay at the top end of the scale is 10050/- pension under 5th PC is 5025/-. While calculating pension in 6th PC top end of the scale was egnored . As there are two pay band in 6th PC - from Sepoy to Hav and from Nb Sub to Sub Maj . The notional pay is calculated by 10050X1.86=18693 rounded off and Notional pay was considered Rs 18700/-. Pension in parity= (18700+4800+2000+1400=26900)/2=13450. Here is a matter of disgrace that Notion Pay of Sub /Maj , 18700/-brought under 6th PC is less than Pay of the Hav . It is a great injustice towards JCO,s by considering their notional pay in 6th PC less than even a Hav . Not to speak of JCO ,s but H/ Capt their Notional pay is considered Rs 15600/- more less than a Hav . It is requested that Notional Pay of Nb Sub onwards , should have been 20200+ 20200x3%=20810/-( this is as per promotion pay fixation in 6th PC from one pay band to other pay band),at least.
