Implementation of One Rank One Pension

The principle of One Rank One Pension for the Armed Forces has been accepted by the Government. The modalities for implementation were discussed with various stakeholders and are presently under consideration of the Government. It will be implemented once the modalities are approved by the Government.

One Rank One Pension (OROP) implies that uniform pension be paid to the Armed Forces personnel retiring in the same rank with the same length of service irrespective of their date of retirement and any future enhancement in the rates of pension to be automatically passed on to the past pensioners. This implies bridging the gap between the rate of pension of the current pensioners and the past pensioners, and also future enhancement in the rate of pension to be automatically passed on to the past pensioners.

This information was given by Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh in a written reply to Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar in Rajya Sabha today.

  2. Modi Govt should count down the days of Govt. If they failed the OROP. Politician like Jaitley should not have with BJP. BJP if fails to implement OROP within month means they are not completing this five years tenure.

  4. This Govt. is a Govt. of SAPNO KA SAUDAGAR .Selling dreams. Not only on OROP but also in other aspects also. Go through its menifestoes.Everything remain in sweet dilouges only. Even after six months in the office, not single agenda as promised has been implemented/fulfilled.What more can be aspected,we fail tounderstand. Upcourse, the oil prices have gone down by merely 7-8 rupees, though the oil prices in international market have gone down by about 50%. The question of OROP seems to be a mirage for the veterans.

for our nation and sacrificing their lives with a loyalty. At any cost, No body dare to
show the eye of my country due to valor and dedication of soldiers. They don't require any sympathy by any one. They should deserve for their actual right. But politician made the mocary and they are playing with the morale of our soldiers. This is very shameful.
