Chandigarh: 11 May 2015-

Lt. General K.J.Singh, GOC-in C Western Command has urged the army veterans to have patience as the case for the removal of pay anomalies is already being taken up with the higher authorities and is under consideration. Replying to the queries of veterans gathered at the Manekshaw Auditorium in the premises of Chandimandir Cantonment from various place of Punjab..., Haryana, UT Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh, he said that since the acceptance of One Rank One Pension demand will incur a huge sum of 8322 crores for the government, there may be procedural delay only but it will not take long now for it to materialize. He said that efforts are on to broad base the Army by doubling the number of commissioning from JCOs, adding that 60000 new vacancies are being created shortly in different ranks. The establishment of a new Directorate for the welfare of veterans is also on the anvil, he said.

On this occasion, Major General A.K.Singh in charge Administration informed that the matter to exempt the veterans from the toll tax is being taken up with the government. He said that Western Command has set up a helpline: 1800-180-2081 for helping out the veterans and another helpline:1800-180-5321, has been set up by PCDA Allahabad to address their financial woes. Major Gen Singh told that a job-fair shall be held at Jalandhar in September this year for providing employment to the ex-soldiers.

Among others who addressed the veterans, Brigadier Sunita Kakkar informed the veterans that the list of common drugs has been revised by the Medical Branch of Western Command and the demand and supply of medicines has been streamlined now. 1. dear sir,
It has direct effect on the morale of the exservice men and their family. inordinate delay my further anguish and sting the ex service men community. OROP now has become one rank one bottle and may attain the status of one rank one bullet. service chiefs must consult the DM periodically and push the matter. very serious issue, once demotivated it is hard to set the aright. early action is solicited

  3. DM himself has been issuing confusing statements and the delay even if for some valid reasons now appears to be self created by the government. DM should clarify the situation in no ambiguous words -- what is being notified and by when and avoid further loss of goodwill.

  4. At this stage the draft of the orders of OROP must be uploaded on website so that any suggestion at this stage can be invited by one and all through e-mail. Later it will be difficult once the Arrow is out from the Bow.

  5. Another consolition and tactics to delay the issue. Fail to understand the term 'procedural delay' as advocated in the meeting. Is it a harcuelian task of counting stars in the sky so that people have to wait for indefinite period.

Of course, bing a serving Gen he has to prop up the lie the Govt is dishing out to Veterans. Unfortunately even he will hv to eagerly luk fwd to OROP fm another DM, some 10 yrs fm today.

  8. Serving Generals also bluffing and making fools armed forces veterans. Earlier the COAS announced that the OROP will be implemented earliest by 30 Apr 2015.Then what happened? Now the serving general officers also line up with the political 'Mahadmas' and 'babus' and making us fools and 'chu***as'. God only knows what will be the future of OROP scheme.

  9. It can be well understood as to what will be the future of prop, With our prime minister who is blind that he does not see that promises made by him are not met, with our defense minister so committed to prop that he has already changed his own statement regarding implementation 4 to 5 times with no firm date still, with our army chief who said orop will be implemented by Apr end (how can he even face the people of his native place), with our supreme commander of defense services, who has never spoken a word about it knowing fully well that he will get his salutes and guard of honors from defense services.
Gov't is testing the patience of ex servicemen.

  10. As if one Directorate of Ex Servicemen Welfare was not enough to harm the services that another Directorate of Veterans Welfare is being created. Will that work under MOD or Army HQ and manned by Veterans or Babus ??

  14. Kindly let me know why DA for Jan 15 is not paid to defence service pensioner in the month of Apr 15. Is it not possible to approach SC to fix deadline for implementing OROP failing which interest will be imposed on arrears of pension?

  15. Recently the SC has given verdict that the OROP should be implemented within four months.

  21. If the expenditure on OROP is more then the Govt should grant us NFU.Our well wishers,I mean the thre Chiefs should accept the NFU gracefully. For not accepting NFU as granted in 6th CPC,our three service chiefs are responsible for not accepting NFU.Our Statius has been down graded and it will further down graded as 7th pay commission will fix pay as per grade pay and all other Class-1 services will be at advantage.WeWill keep getting killed for the country and the cream will go the the officers who sit in a/c room with out any denger to their life.GOD BLESS GOD FATHERS ,DU

  23. The popularity of the Govt. is diminishing exponentially among the ExSM community. If the same wave moves to the regular Defence Forces, the SCENE will be different. The GOI is playing a very very dangerous game. Jaitley is nothing to lose he has already lost. It is the biggest mistake of Mr. Modi to induct him in his kitchen cabinet for obligation only and didn't think that when a person is rejected by the people of the land how come he becomes a central Minister that too two big portfolios making a part -time Defence Minister. No cloth is left to be removed from the body of a naked person.
