DEMONETISATION :: A Note of Dissent - By Tufail Ahmad

It's about a month since #demonitisation began. We are seeing extremely poor implementation of this programme. It doesn't seem to me that the Modi government was prepared to execute it efficiently. As of now, people are still returning from queues at ATMs and banks empty handed. The fact that BJP leaders and ministers are day and night tweeting about going cashless is also an indication that the government is unable to deliver cash to people. The presumption behind cashless is that cash will be available the moment you desire it.

I do not see any government leader in a position to assure people by what date queues will disappear. In fact, the king of foreign ministry has gone on television to tell the people that less cash will be released into economy now. If your blood is boiling at my this post, then let me say that I will support demonisation of all Indian currencies so that my barber knows that he must quickly get on to the cashless machine.

The poor and the middle class Indians are still queuing -- some are dying in queues and at least one woman gave birth to a baby in queue. Meanwhile, the rich can get new currencies at telephone calls to bank staff.

If the queues continue beyond December, the Modi government may start preparing for its funeral.

DEAR ALL,

To start  off with a Joke-
Just told my maid that i will transfer her salary on line.

She said she will work from home
😭😝😝😭😭😭

Though I was keen on DM move but its implementation on ground zero has been almost ZERO.

Unless MODI KICKS THE FM AND HIS TEAM, AND IMPROVES THE SITUATION FOR AVAILABILITY OF CASH, HE  AND HIS GOVT WILL BE BIDDING GOOD BYE TO THE GOOD WILL OF  AAM ADMI SOON.

I agree with Tufail Ahmad here..

Regards,
Sunder.

  1. Whether, demonetization gets X amount or Y, it is a huge success, people have finally found a leader, who is willing to take the corruption bull by its horns.People, have stood in all kinds of queues, throughout our existence as an independent nation-that too without hope for any betterment in future, this time a new hope has been born and people are not complaining as much as the media is purveying. Modi, is here to stay, though he has to sustain the fight by going after bullion, real estate particularly benami etc.He, should definitely remove the new Rs 2000/-after, the circulation of this note is reduced, thereby suggesting, the horders have finally converted black liquid holdings to it.

    2. Please come to Mumbai and withdraw conveniently,I have done it comfortably thrice including once from bank by cheque. In fact , on one occasion me and another person complimented the branch manager. Remember, change is always beneficial to the deprived, any one who does not agree now will do so a little time later by looking at the rear view mirror.Any one,can have a different experience and a different view-take the pearls of knowledge with wisdom.

  2. Yes, we stood in queues for ration, sugar, cooking oil, even to ring up home, but that was before Dr. Manmohan Singh became Finance Minister in Narsimha Rao Govt. Of course, it was 30 yrs back. Now the present Govt is trying hard to take the nation back by 30 yrs. Look at the chaos at Banks, ATMs, loss of man-power, almost stoppage of production, GDP expected to go down by 2 % , unemployment going down south. Even God almighty can not stop Country going down the gutter. Well done, Mr PM. Country is proud of you. You will be remembered in the history as........

  4. It is unfortunate that an ambitious dream of PM MODI was very poorly executed by his team. The lousy politicians and bureaucracy with feudal mindset and the inefficient govt machinery can not cope up with the speed aimed by the PM.Even before 8 November 50% of the ATMs especially of SBI in any locality were not functional. This is our efficiency. He should have foreseen these eventualities. For the first 4 days when PM was out of India nothing moved. Things started picking up momentum only on his return and personal intervention. If slowing down of pumping new currency into the system was aimed at reducing the money in circulation then in the long run this will help. But 100% curbing of fake notes and black money will never be achieved with this process. This trial and error can not be experimented again for some 30- 40 years till its memories are afresh in the mind of the people.
As a layman I think small denomination notes should have been printed and kept ready and recalibration of ATMs under some pretext should have been done prior to the announcement. And the Rs 2000/= notes should not be there. Shortage of cash made people panicky and many want to hold maximum cash as early as possible which led to the current situation. Let us hope that the present exercise will yield at least 50% results to justify the difficulty faced by us.

  5. Being an ex-service man , I work in a bank. Nationalised bank. I support demonetization in principle. But in practically it was a failure due to the sufferings common man has suffered. Absolutely der was no cash in my branch. Or any other banks around my area. The idea is superb, but I can't ignore a common man's tears. The govt should have taken more precautionary measures . In my branch itself so many ex service men pensioners. Dl 33 yrs arrears arrived after so many months waiting and we are giving 4000/- rs to each. IS IT JUSTIFIED MR ANONYMOUS? any amount of nationalisom will not console a poor aged old soldier. So many commitments u know. Aged wife her treatment medicine . What I should tell him? Shall I ask him to come to Mumbai? r u an ex-service man? I doubt. I am 733103 - L ex Sgt shine jose asst manager corporation Bank Coimbatore

    1. Its people like you, who make BHARAT MAHAN, I salute your spirit and willingness to take little pain in stride despite your age . Modi Ji is trying to construct a new building without demolishing the old one, in the same place, he is removing the old bricks, which are eaten up by the corruption termite and substituting them with new termite resistant, Neam coated currency notes.Little patience and co-operation by the deprived countrymen will bring back the glory of our proud past, which, will combine Ram Rajya in welfare and values, Sone Ki Chidiya in riches and prosperity and provide the stage for people to live the life as per the teachings of our beloved lord Sri Krishna in the Mighty epic Sri Mad Bhagwat Gita combining Dharma and Karma. We, those living today, at the confluence of times and change, when India is rising up slowly and grace fully striding to take its rightful place in the committee of nations-are lucky to be be part of a great war waged on the corrupt, which will lead us to a new dawn. Jai Hind Jai Maa Bhaarti.

demonetisation is mandatory to curtail domestic black money, but proactively, they should have printed small denomination currency notes equally to meet the situation of crisis oriented, our indian are non patriotic and politicians are prone to give freebies to get themselves elected in the elections

on the other hand the government have to recover and make good loss of loan defaulters , huge amount is lying in the account of NPA, ought to be recovered

then only demonetisation is a grand success

  9. Tufail Ahmed/Sunder/everyone else has the right to express their opinion, PM Modi did not say that the implementation will be smooth without problems. What he said was that there would be difficulties and appealed to the people to give him 50 days.We waited 30 days and why not give him another 20 days before condemning him to death. Have patience and abuse him to your hearts contend if he does not keep his promise, a fair chance, isin't it?
