New Delhi: Key members of the ex-servicemen's group protesting in the capital over the 'One Rank One Pension' (OROP) issue said on Wednesday that they have received threats.
Col Anil Kaul (retd), spokesperson of the United Ex-Servicemen Front, told IANS that many members of the governing body, including Maj Gen Satbir Singh (retd), Group Captain VK Gandhi (retd) and himself, have received threats. "There have been threats to several governing body members. There is no specific threat but they say things like 'we will fix you'," Col Kaul told IANS.
"We found one policeman clicking a picture of Satbir's car, we stopped him," he said.
The veterans are protesting at Jantar Mantar, dissatisfied with the OROP scheme announced by the government. Wednesday was the 101st day of the agitation.

I earnestly request the COAS, CAS and CNS to protect and safeguard the interests and life threats of veterans at JM. Though they are not directly involved in any hunger strikes yet the people sitting on RHS at JM are their forefathers and veterans. I am sure no law will book them for honouring their veterans. If bureaucrats challenge that they will fix us "foujis" are we females wearing bangles to get fixed so, if given a chance we can show them that we are versatile and can function as soldier and as well as bureaucrats but they cant do this dual job. We the defence people only can do that. The politicians and bureaucrats are clever and smart but we are intelligent and honest. JAI HIND
