The Telangana government will increase the honorarium for ex-servicemen from the state who took part in World War II from Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000 a month, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said on Thursday. Interacting with a group of ex-servicemen who called on him, KCR said that during the next state formation day celebrations, the government would honour servicemen and servicewomen who displayed excellence in their fields.The chief minister asked ex-servicemen to submit a district-wise list of issues and problems faced by them which can then be addressed by the government. He also promised that the government would set aside a percentage of houses being constructed for the poor for economically backward exservicemen families, according to a release from the chief minister's office.
