A LADY'S REPLY TO GEN VK SINGH'S SUGESTION THAT VETERANS SHOULD HAVE USED OTHER METHODS RATHER THAN AGITATION FOR SEEKING OROP.

General, am sure you knew and know best.
Well what stopped you from sharing those brilliant methodologies with the OROP campaign team and guiding them?!!
With you around, the veterans and forces should have had an ally within the govt. Yet your presence wasn't felt anywhere. Not as a negotiator or mediator or representative.
Without having contributed to the process or an acceptable and dignified outcome, do you then feel you have the right to now comment or critique?
Sir, that's a very visible and unfortunate example of extremely low OLQ.
Forgive my candour, but the pride and honour of my father's brother officers who have slugged it out these past few years, for their rights OROP makes it imperative for me to say so.
A previous govt, headed by an insensitive and myopic PM and misguided by arrogant and devious bureaucracy, committed a serious anomaly by reducing rates of pension and retirement benefits to soldiers.
OROP is merely the correction of that anomaly. A correction that would compensate for four decades of indignity.
It is not a favour by any political dispensation or leader.
To eulogise and gloat about the grant of a diluted OROP and then downsize the stature of the soldier by outlining the' burden' on the economy, is heaping further indignity on the forces.
A soldier who goes home prematurely after delivering pensionable service is being generous to the exchequer, by first giving you his best years and then making way for a younger force, instead of continuing in service, drawing an increasing salary and emolumets.
And this govt has actually displayed an appalling inability to gauge that benchmark and support the premature retiree with retirement benefits he deserved!
Your intent may have been to divide and rule by dilution.
Sorry sir, these men are still officers and gentlemen, long after they have hung up their boots.
It's an attribute you might do well to relearn and imbibe once more, if you are to gain true respect!
You are well aware of how little regard the citizenry displays for the average politician, unless accompanied by impeccable values, integrity and conviction!

  3. Madam, you could explain in detail what is the motive behind Genral VK Singh's unwarranted comments that there were other mentod, He means to say that give up jandarmandir hunger strike and go to court. The honourable Supreme court has already given its judgment on this matter. Then what is it option out for our veterans.
