More surgical strikes if India's security is challenged: Manohar Parrikar

Dehradun: Stepping up the attack on Pakistan, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday said that missions like the Thursday's surgical strikes on terror camps could be done again if the security of the country was challenged or jeopardised.
In his first statement after a special Indian Army term crossed the Line of Control into Pakistani-administered Kashmir and demolished seven launchpads of terrorists, Parrikar said that "anyone who casts an evil eye on the country would not be spared".

Speaking at a function held to unveil statue of local hero Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali, Parrikar further said that Pakistan had been stunned into silence after the surgical strikes and was in a comatose condition. "Pakistan is like a patient who has been put under anaesthesia before an operation," he said as people clapped in agreement.
The union minister also warned Pakistan that if it indulged in some misadventure, it will be given a befitting response.
He also said that despite tension on the borders and his busy schedule, he came to pay tributes to Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali as brave men like him make the country proud.

  2. His talk sounds like an election sloganeering. We know not how Ram treated the 'Retired Hanuman', but Parikkar's Hanuman is in need, but the R(a)M is reluctant.

  4. Dear Parrikar sahab, just because you have been made the RM by the PM, does not mean you have also acquired all the knowledge about our forces..just because no soldier can question you doesn't mean you can keep talking anything that comes to your mind. The armed forces do not have to be educated by you about their power. Yes, it's another matter that they cannot do anything till ordered by the political bosses. But that too comes from the PM and not the RM, this every Indian knows. In any case, so far as you are concerned, how much say you actually have in the corridors of power sir... you have failed the forces in getting them their due whether its OROP or CPC anomalies. So please do not take credit for something which is not your doing. This bold decision is by PM, very well executed by the forces..that's it sir.

  5. When an IAS officer was indicted in a scam (COAL), all the ministers were silent not owning the responsibility for taking wrong decisions, here when the Army wins a small battle, every one is the father claiming the baby, the success. Our RM is great in waking up our ever vigilant and efficient Army. By the by, his Goa fans are going to felicitate him for this 'great first victory' (sic) of Mr Parikkar as the RM.

  6. The one man show that saved India: Goa BJP will give a warm public reception to Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on October 4, to hail is role in the "historic" surgical strikes across the LoC. A procession will be taken out on the occasion. "The party will host civic reception for Mr Parrikar on October 4 at Azad Maidan in Panaji, where he will arrive in a procession," he said.
