MR PRIME MINISTER, STANDING AT THE CUSP OF TIME - YOU PROPEL INTO HISTORY :: IT IS TIME TO BE PRO-ACTIVE AND NOT RE-ACTIVE (INDIAN THINKING). STRIKE AT THE PSYCHE OF PAK AS A NATION. STATE EMPHATICALLY "WILL RESORT TO PUNITIVE & SEVERE NUCLEAR ATTACK, IF PAK OPTS FOR FIRST STRIKE. A NATION OF 4 CITIES (PAK), CANNOT DARE THINK RETALIATE THE NATION OF 104 CITIES (INDIA)::: YOU HAVE ONLY 3 OPTIONS::: STRIKE, STRIKE AND STRIKE. MAY GOD GIVE YOU STRENGTH AND WISDOM TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT CHOICE.

Dear Mr Modi,

At the outset let me begin by stating that how proud we Indians are to have a P M of your integrity. Past 96 odd hours must have been hours of extreme anxiety laced with fear of the unknown. Your extremely competent team of advisors must have given their valued opinion on the options to be exercised after attack at Uri.

Let me share a small event; I met an Israeli pilot in USA nearly 35 years back. He was then flying Kfir, an Israeli fighter. I was flying MiG-21. We hit it off instantaneously. During our excursion tour of Washington lasting over six hours, we chatted on every issue from personal family to war.

His one line answer to my question about Israeli ability to keep so many hostile nation at bay was simple but astonishing. He said “OVER THE YEARS WE HAVE TRAINED OURSELVES TO THINK LIKE AN ARAB. THIS ENABLES US TO TRACK THEIR MOVES EVEN BEFORE ACTION FROM THEIR SIDE BEGINS”.

We as Indians, military included, have failed miserably in acquiring this expertise. Our bureaucrats are no better. Even the master strategist Chanakya had said something like this.

This shortcoming has made us REACTIVE rather than PRO-ACTIVE. Sadly we think as Indians on Pak intentions and we continue to bite the dust repeatedly.

I have absolutely no doubt that your senior advisors have placed before  you the specter of a nuclear strike by Pakistan, if we opt to retaliate militarily. Nothing could be farther from truth.

I have spent over two years with PAF pilots in Iraq flying from same base.

Psyche of a Pakistani is that of an impoverished, under-confident and scared individual/group and that is why they ‘bark’.

Indeed we should be prepared for an unlikely nuclear strike from Pakistan. But believe me it will not happen merely because we sent four MiG-21s to strike at a supposed terrorist camp.

Mr. Prime Minister, we do not have to strike the PERSONA of PAK MILITARY, but we have to strike at the PSYCHE of PAKISTAN as a NATION.

Towards this an emphatic and unequivocal statement from you that - WE SHALL RESORT TO PUNITIVE & DISPROPORTIONATELY SEVERE NUCLEAR ATTACK, IF PAKISTAN OPTS FOR FIRST STRIKE, will be enough.

Believe me a nation of FOUR CITIES (Pakistan)cannot absorb such retaliation from a nation of 104 cities (India).

You stand at the cusp of time that will propel you into history.

Diplomatic isolation of Pakistan is extremely unlikely, given the prevailing geo-strategic scenario. USA is unlikely to declare Pakistan as a terrorist state (‘BADABER’ near Peshawar continues to remain a US base except that there are no operations by US forces from this base at the moment). Hangar doors can always be opened).

Even if it is accomplished, it will further enrage Pakistan psyche leading to more such attacks.

We have to force Pakistan into submission by demonstrating that we can and will resort to punitive mil action. Terrorists understand only one language; that is of terror.

Diplomatic accomplishment and Military action can be compared to SHIELD and SWORD respectively.

Diplomatic action is like a shield, which can only protect you; it cannot destroy/eliminate the evil.

Military action is like a SWORD; it not only protects you but also eliminates the evil.

Mr Prime Minister, we fighter pilots follow one credo blindly*;

If you take a wrong decision, it can be fatal, but INDECISION is always fatal. *
*Mr Prime Minister you have to choose from THREE OPTIONS; Strike, Strike and Strike.*

May God grant you the wisdom and strength to choose the right option in this hour of grave national crisis.

 Regards,
 Gp Capt TP Srivastava

Well said Sir. At UN platform our
    Minister has simply responded to
    PAK.Calling these diplomacies are
Since 47. Apart from this no nation
Is fool to loose their own interest
for another nation. So never consided that some one will sacrifice on behalf of you.So it
Will be better if we stop playing
"CHESS" in the interest of country.
So better to follow the "FAUJI
SAYING" COMMANDER IS TO BE HEARD
NOT TO BE SEEN. Let us wish PM
    keeps all options open. Tks

  2. We hope we can trust this Modi's government more than any ( including Mrs.Indira Gandhi's 1971 government) since independence that there would be no scope for an INDECISION even if a WRONG. The nation is too anxious to see Mr Modi's moves.

  3. Gp Capt Srivastav, I admire your patriotic spirit. Military options of the kind you have suggested can be one of the inputs in decision-making, but not the ultimate. Geo-political equations have changed in recent years. They are very important before any country embarks on a WAR. Russia has been our Supporter all these years. With our recent leanings on USA, Russian support to us may get modified. China is anyway on the PAK side. There is no unanimity of views on military matters between USA and Russia in Syria and elsewhere. In the long past, USA has not been as consistent as Russia in wars / warlike situatios. Under these circumstances, military (mis) adventures to be very carefully discounted. If you have to be on the offensive, it has to be TOTAL. In that case, even if you win decisively, You have to consider problem of handling a hostile population. Haven't you seen it in Afganistan, Iraq to name a few? In my opinion, if military action is inevitable, it should be focussed purely on destroying breeding grounds of terrorists / militants. For this, war is not needed. Limited Actions are sufficient. PL correct me if I am wrong.

  4. You correctly pointed out that diplomacy is a shield and we cannot fend behind it forever. Given the self oriented friends of Pakistan, the China, the Arab Countries, the passively supporting US, currently leaning Russia and ever indecisive UNGC, our shield will be ineffective in the long run, if not forever. If we separate the Pakistan as a Nation of its people, and a terrorist supporting country, our option is to use the hard hitting sword on the terrorist supporting country. Let us act to eliminate the deadliest cancer that is threatening the subcontinent, it will bring peace to the people of Pakistan and India in the long run. The healing approach for us at this juncture is to use the scalpel and not smooth diplomatic talk. Remember Chanakya's words of wisdom, "You require a goad to tame an elephant, a whip to train a horse, and a stick to control your cattle. In similar manner a wicked person cannot be controlled with mere words". Chanakya, the teacher, philosopher, economist, jurist and royal advisor was an ace in turning tables in his favor irrespective of the circumstances. He never budged. So must be our PM's action at this crucial juncture.
