MERA BHAARAT AJEEB, ANOKHA, PHIR BHI MAHAAN
Since, the Govt is weak compared to India's corrupt bureaucracy, who operate in gangs to protect corrupt colleagues, even if they have acted in support/connivance with anti national forces or they know secrets of the Govt, and are able to blackmail them, the Govt can't be trusted to act correctly, not the present DM at least.
If the HM becomes DM, the matter would be sorted in few days. Look at the way he has slapped the forces by taking the PMFs ahead of us and now efforts are on to give us parity with them(PMFs).
Since, the interest of sub ordinates is given a go by, sooner or later the Armed Forces will be divided vertically, as this is what is being pursued by the Govt/Bureaucrats. An Indian Army soldier, draws much less than his counterparts in PMFs just because they grant additional allowances to those working away from their base, which is some distance away, which is the case always with the Army.
But, now that NFU is denied to officers, so much hue and cry. We should serve the interest of sub-ordinates before serving our own selves, as per the age age old Chetwode motto.
The Govt action will be like that of Indira Gandhi's post 1971 and will reduce our status further by reducing some thing or the other if not pension.
As regard, the above DO letter, it does nothing, this way or that way, except making the chairman SOSC a suspect, in the fight.
And of course gives the Govt time and opportunity to delay things till the favorable opinion for the Armed Forces in the country comes down.
When you hear the hammer, the iron must be hot but if you don't hear the hammer, take it, the cunning are scheming again, and will time their move when the iron is cold.
But, the good thing is that, we have nothing to loose, see, we take higher risk they take higher allowance, we function 24/7 and keep stagnating like pickle. And they are given allowances for not functioning(NFU). Probably, the suggestion is that we also should stop functioning.
In any case, all that is left with us is Medals and Ribbons, and we should voluntarily give them up, so that the pot bellied fellows can decorate their chest, which mostly is covered by the belly.
Mera Bharat Ajeeb, Anokha, phir bhi Mahan.
